To Press or Not to Press?

  To press, or not to press? There are strides in technology everyday, and not just in the tech world, but the trades work as well. Propress fittings are a new wave of ingenuity in the plumbing world, but what are the pros and cons? Let's underline the pro in propress. These fittings have a potential of cutting labor costs due to the speed and ease of installation. Patching copper may have never been easier, with a few tools, a fitting and some cutters, the job is done in a flash with no open flames. All sound great, and by no means do we claim they are terrible but there are other factors to consider. Propress is relatively new, and functions by "pressing" these fitting together with a rubber seal in each side. Due to the new development of these fittings, there's just not a lot of long term statistics on how they hold up.
